Nikola Tesla Secrets - Some of Nikola Tesla Inventions That Changed The World

Among the discoveries and inventions of natural genius Nikola Tesla were several things we take for granted in our modern world.  Yet every one of those discoveries was pushed through against stiff opposition and vested interests.  It isn't until 70 years after his death that the world is waking up to the real genius of Nikola Tesla inventions.

1. Alternating Current

Direct current, the hitherto standard, could not be transported across long distances.  Yet, the companies that held monopoly status over the generation and distribution of DC did not want any competition.  Tesla's invention of alternating current came as a huge threat to their enterprise, and they resisted fiercely.  Eventually, though, AC became the new standard after Tesla demonstrated its power convincingly to a wide audience.

2. Light Distribution

Tesla conducted a dramatic display at the World Fair when he first put up famous scientist's names in lights by bending glass tubes into various shapes and using his principle of tube lighting to create the first neon lights.  His Tesla Coil remains among the most impressive (and controversial) discoveries of the 19th century.
